The 2017 Innovation and Intellectual Property Forum was successfully held in the academic auditorium of UCAS on May 6. The forum was presided by MU Rongping, the vice executive director of the SPPM and the executive director of the School of Intellectual Property. And professors and experts from different universities and institutes (like Tian Lipu, Liu Chuntian, Li Mingde, Zhang Ping, Liu Haibo, Song Hefa, Yan Wenjun) have made keynote speeches.
Tian Lipu, the former director of the State Intellectual Property Office, address the inauguration ceremony of the School of Intellectual Property. In his academic report, he elaborated the reasonability of a patent financial aid policy and stressed the importance of building a strong country of patents.
Liu Tianchun, the dean of the School of Intellectual Property of Renmin University, presented his ideas about the institutions of innovation and intellectual property. He believed that we are living in an era of knowledge and technology in which the greatest innovation is creating new ideas.
Zhang Ping, the vice executive director of the School of Intellectual Property of Peking University, delivered a speech with a theme “ the protection of privacy and date security in big data era” which analyzed the causes and governance suggestions of personal information security.
Li Mingde, the director of the Center for Intellectual Property of CASS, analyzed some important issues of the anti-unfair competition law.
Professor Yan Wenjun discussed the injunctive relief from a FRAND perspective. And researcher Song Hefa put forward some suggestions and a framework for the development of building a strong country of patents.
Before the opening the forum, Mr. Tian Lipu, the vice president of UCAS Gao Suixiang, Dean of the SPPM Fang Xin, Director of the Bureau of Science ＆ Technology for Development Yan Qing, and the deputy director of the State Intellectual Property and Patents Management Division Zhao Meisheng attended the opening and inauguration ceremony and addressed.
The School of Intellectual Property, UCAS, is an important part of “integration strategy of science and education” of the Institute of Science and Development and the SPPM. To implement the second round agreement between the State Intellectual Property Office and University of China’s Academy of Sciences, the School of Intellectual Property was founded mainly on the Department of Intellectual Property of the SPPM and many other research centers in CAS such as the Intellectual Property Research and Training Center, the Intellectual Property Research and Consultancy Center and Competition Law Research and Consultancy Center. The UCAS has over 100 professional institutes and with the help of Chinese Association for Science of Science and S＆T Policy, the School of Intellectual Property is aimed at cultivating interdisciplinary talents and professional practitioners in IP fields. And its vision is to become a Chinese school with international fame in education, research and think tank of the IP field.
