Prof. Jiang Yu gave talk at International Forum “Global Governance of AI”

On April 28, 2018, the international forum titled “Global Governance of AI” was held in Beijing by the School of Public Policy & Management, Tsinghua University, and Centre for International governance Innovation (CIGI). Scholars from China, Canada, India and Singapore, along with entrepreneurs from DiDi and Tencent were invited to participate in delivering speechs and discussing. Global issues concerning legal, ethical, social and sustainable development were warmly discussed during the forum.

Prof.Jiang Yu, the executive director of RCNID and the professor of the School of Public Policy and Management UCAS, attended the forum and gave a speech entitled “AI in China under the globalization: development and Challenges”. He introduced the findings of “The Blue Book of Chinese Artificial Intelligence Innovation” and addressed both the common and unique features of AI development in China and other countries. He pointed out that apart from the similarities, AI development in China was facing great and special opportunities as well as the application challenges based on broad industrial vertical application contexts in China.

Professor Lan Xue, the Dean of School of Public Policy & Management, Tsinghua University made a summary of the forum. Dr. Rohinton Medhora, the Chairman of CIGI, Prof. Xufeng Zhu and many other experts from Tsinghua University, Shanghai University and CIGI also gave their speeches and participated in the discussion.
